形態特徵

• Rhizome long creeping, ca. 2-3 mm thick. Culms erect, 5-20 (-30) cm tall, 1.5-3 mm wide, trigonous, rigid, covered with leaf sheaths for most of length.
• Leaves several, recurved, 2-4 mm wide, coriaceous, scabrous, long sheathing.
• Spikes 3-6; uppermost 2 or 3 spikes staminate or second and/or third gynaecandrous, those close together, remainder spikes pistillate, linear 1-5 cm long, ca. 2.5 mm wide, dark brown, oblong to cylindrical, 1.5-5 cm long, 8-10 mm wide, subdensely many-flowered, erect, peduncle. Bracts sheathless, leafy blades much surpassing inflorescence.
• Pistillate glumes ovate, 7-9 mm long, acute to cuspidate at apex. Utricles patent, ovoid, 7-9 mm long, strongly spongy, yellowsih green to olive yellow, nerveless, obtusely trigonous; beak deeply 2-cleft. Achenes ovate, trigonous, ca. 4-6 mm long; style more or less thickened at base; stigmas 3, 3-4 mm long.

分布

• 台灣 : sandy seacoast.
• 世界 : Ussuri, Japan Chinese and New Zealand, also introduced to Chilean coast.
